Seafair Pirates Landing at Alki Beach 2025
The annual Seafair Pirates Landing at Alki Beach is back! A tradition in Seattle for over 70 years. the Pirates will be storming the beach to steal the key to the city on Saturday, June 28. The pirates will land around 12:30 p.m. with festivities beforehand. Once on the beach, the Pirates will entertain kids of all ages, with treasures galore to share.
A blast of black smoke and the smell of gunpowder fill the air as a seasoned crew of scallywags and swashbucklers storm your way! It’s a high-humored heist by the Seattle Seafair Pirates. The salty troupe’s shenanigans and formidable float, the Moby Duck, have become synonymous with SEAFAIR revelry. The Pirates, originally members of the Washington State Press Club’s Ale & Quail Society, banded together in 1949 to promote Seattle and Seafair while having fun and serving the community. Despite their bad-guy image, the Pirates make dozens of appearances annually to hospitals and nursing homes. During the height of Seattle’s SEAFAIR Celebration, they appear at several events and parades each day.
The 40+ Pirates are an elite troupe who carefully select their members based on an ability to mix well with the public and unique musical or theatrical talent. The Pirates come from many professions and are tested for a year to ensure that they can safely entertain and interact with the community.
