Port Angeles Symphony Chamber Orchestra presents Navajo concerto, Vivaldi and more
Bassoonist Dr. Jacqueline Wilson, a member of the Yakama Nation, is the special guest artist with the Port Angeles Symphony Chamber Orchestra for this final concert of its 92nd season. Everyone is invited! Wilson, with the 24-piece ensemble conducted by Maestro Jonathan Pasternack, will play Navajo composer Connor Chee's Concerto for Bassoon and Strings, plus a complementary piece, Vivaldi's Bassoon Concerto in F major. Rounding out the evening's program are Elgar's Serenade for Strings and Eller's Five Pieces for String Orchestra. This is a rare chance to hear this music live in an intimate venue on the Olympic Peninsula. The Chamber Orchestra will repeat the program the following night, May 17, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim.
