Northwind Art Auction Public Pop-up Gallery: open later on Day 2
Northwind Art, the nonprofit art gallery and art school in Port Townsend, invites the public to its first-ever Pop-up Gallery. More than 50 artworks from local and regional artists will be on view and available for bidding or the buy-it-now option. These works are all part of Northwind Art's online art auction, a major fundraiser for community art programs. The Pop-up Gallery is a joyous gathering of diverse creations — from jewelry to mixed media to photography and beyond. Well-known local artists including Linda Okazaki (whose work is pictured here), David Van Galen, Glo Lamson, Elissa Greisz, Isabel Elena Pérez, Me'l Christensen, April Ottey, Brian Goodman, the late Russell Jacqua, Meg Kaczyk, Corinne Humphrey, Chris Witkowski, Diane Urbani de la Paz, Mitchel Osborne and many others have contributed artworks to this event.
The online Art Auction will run from June 9 through June 27 with all bidding online — from anywhere in the world — at NorthwindArt.org/gala. The Pop-up Gallery is a chance for local art lovers to see the artworks up close; it lasts for two days, June 10 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and June 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to visit as many times as they like.
