On September 5, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, at Leif Erikson Hall, 2245 NW 57th Street, Seattle, Northwest Dance Network (NDN) will launch its 2026-2027 season with a very special FREE dance. Beginners and experienced dancers are encouraged to attend.

At 7:00 PM, a pre-dance workshop led by dance instructors Guy Caridi and Nancy Fry, will invite beginning dancers to give swing dancing a try, or advanced dancers to smarten up their steps. The lesson starts at 7:00 PM, followed by the dance.

Featuring entertainer extraordinaire Casey MacGill, known throughout the west as The King when it comes to Swing, and his incomparable quintet, this event will be Northwest Dance Network’s BIG thank you to the Greater Seattle Community. Casey's a master of multiple musical styles – (check out his “Barrelhouse" CD if you need proof) – and his lively repertoire gets everybody moving.

Expect Casey and his quintet to grind out a night of mostly blues — punctuated perfectly with tasty bites of his oh-so-danceable swing, featuring the legendary Hans Teuber on sax and clarinet, Jacques Willis on drums, Nate Parker on bass, and, as a special addition, swinging femme guitarist, EJ Cocker.

“Casey MacGill is the master when it comes to playing swing music for dancers,” says Dean Paton, a decades-long aficionado of Casey’s music. “He has this special ability to create places in the music that gives dancers the space to play — and that seems rare these days.”
