Please join us for five wonderful documentaries that feature ordinary people being extraordinary in how they live their lives.

All I CAN SEE IS THE FUTURE: An Optometrist opens her first clinic in the under-served area of Staten Island, New York. A newly released felon asks for a job. After some polishing up, they grow the clinic to 20,000 patients but a sudden “people, places and things” incident threatens to destroy all that they have worked for.

4.1 MILES: A coast guard captain on a small Greek island is suddenly charged with saving thousands of refugees from drowning at sea.

Queen of Basketball: Lusia Harris was a pioneering athlete who became a basketball phenomenon in the 1970s.

THE GREAT WORLD OF GREGORY BLACKSTOCK: The richly obsessive life and work of renowned autistic artist Gregory Blackstock comes to life, as he uses his art to catalogue and make sense of the world around him.

INSTRUMENTS OF A BEATING HEART: First graders in a Tokyo elementary school are presented with a challenge for the final semester: performing “Ode to Joy” at the ceremony for the new incoming first graders. Ayame, who often struggles to keep up with the group, is determined to play a major part – the big drum.
