A freewheeling discussion of "A Closer Look," with artists Elissa Greisz and Maxwell Yakush
Feminist mixed-media artist Elissa Greisz and sculptor Maxwell Yakush are showing their genre-defying art in "A Closer Look," the show at Jeanette Best Gallery; they will discuss their work and welcome questions in this free talk. Everyone is invited to explore the show and ask Elissa and Maxwell, both Port Townsend residents, about their beautiful and mysterious pieces. Elissa's work integrates iridescent diffraction foil, recycled aluminum and the words of Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady. Maxwell's sculptures are inspired by stones from nearby beaches, Yemeni structures, animals and other sources. Their exhibition will stay on view at this nonprofit gallery through May 19, and gallery hours are 12-5 PM Thursdays through Mondays.
