Seattle residents will get a $10 credit on their next waste bill as a result of a settlement between the city and Waste Management following an eight-day strike that stopped collections.
Mayor Mike McGinn says the settlement is $1.24 million over missed garbage, recycling and yard waste collections in late July and August. Condominiums, businesses and apartments will receive a $50 credit per dumpster.
The credit will be in the November-December billing cycle.
Waste Management serves 90,000 households, 2,200 apartments and 4,500 businesses in northwest and south Seattle.
