Interim Seattle Public Schools head won't seek job

The interim head of Seattle Public Schools says she doesn't want the job permanently.

Susan Enfield made the surprise announcement Friday in a letter to staff and community members.

Enfield was appointed to the position of interim superintendent in March after the previous schools boss, Maria Goodloe-Johnson, was ousted following a financial scandal.

Enfield's contract ends in June. She wished the Seattle School Board well in their search for a new superintendent and said she would work to ensure a smooth transition.
