The Gonzaga men's basketball team came close this week to being the first undefeated national champions since 1976. But they lost to Baylor in the title game. It was a near-historic season for the Gonzaga men's basketball team. The Zags from Spokane lost to Baylor Monday night in the NCAA championship game, 86-70. KNKX sports commentator Art Thiel joined Morning Edition host Kirsten Kendrick live to talk about the game and the Zags' season.

The Gonzaga men's basketball team will find out Sunday where they will be seeded in the NCAA tournament. They're expected to be ranked No. 1 overall since they're entering the tournament with an undefeated record. It's quite a contrast to how the seasons went for the University of Washington and Washington State University, as we hear from KNKX sports commentator Art Thiel and Morning Edition host Kirsten Kendrick.

The Huskies are still hoping to get to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2011.
