Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, reopened Monday for the first time since a student opened fire there and killed nine people on Thursday.

There's police tape around the perimeter of the campus and law enforcement officers are posted at each of the entrances to the campus, checking ID. Only employees and students will be allowed on the campus Monday.

The campus is open but not in the usual sense of the word as there are no classes for another week. A reader board for the school displayed the words "campus closed" all weekend. The plastic letters were changed out this morning to read "welcome back staff."

Grief counselors are on campus and people can come back to get anything left there last week. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, October 12.

Meanwhile, Roseburg is standing together and trying to move on. Many people attended a prayer vigil at the local public high school just after 7:00 a.m. Monday. And area businesses are making donations, raising money for victims' families and are offering free things if you make a donation to the victims' funds.
