These scary movies even have NWFF Artistic Director Courtney Sheehan frightened!

Courtney Sheehan, Northwest Film Forum's Artistic Director, shares two upcoming cinematic events brought to you by local women filmmakers.

Near the Amazon campus in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood, an abandoned school building is scheduled to be demolished. Before that happens, 13 women filmmakers are shooting short horror films that will be turned into an anthology, called "13 Chambers." The films are produced by the Seattle firm Smarthouse Creative in partnership with Aktionsart, an art and technology nonprofit.

"Dead Body" is a classic, feature-length horror film involving teenagers getting the wits scared out of them. Directed by Seattle filmmaker Bobben Ramnsey, the film played recently in the Local Sightings Film Festival in Seattle and will play in the New York City Horror Fest in November.
