Night Of The Cookers Featuring Brian Lynch And Thomas Marriott On Jazz Northwest

Jim Wilke
Brian Lynch and Thomas Marriott, trumpets at Earshot Festival.

Continuing a series of concerts recorded at this year's Earshot Jazz Festival in Seattle, Jazz Northwest presents highlights from "Night Of The Cookers" featuring trumpet players Brian Lynch and Thomas Marriott recorded in concert at Tula's in Seattle.

Inspired in part by a famous mid-60s record date featuring Freddie Hubbard and Lee Morgan, this event featured two great trumpet players in their own music, plus one by trumpet great Woody Shaw.  Completing the quintet are Marc Seales, piano, Chuck Deardorf, bass and Matt Jorgensen on drums.

Jazz Northwest airs Sundays at 2 p.m. Pacific on 88.5 knkx and streams at knkx.org.  After broadcast, programs are archived for streaming at jazznw.org.   The program is recorded and produced by host Jim Wilke.
