Several recent releases by Northwest resident musicians are featured on this week's Jazz Northwest. Bremerton saxophonist Mark Lewis recorded in New York with a trio of first-call musicians. Adam Kessler and Phil Sparks are the cornerstone of Thursday sessions at Barça Lounge on Capitol Hill with different guest artists each week.
Their new CD includes guitarist Dave Peterson, one of the many guests featured in these live recordings from the club. Also on this week's show is accordionist David Lange's new studio CD "Mélange" which ranges through a variety of styles played by several different ensembles.
Jazz Northwest airs weekly on Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. Pacific and includes available recordings as well as unique live-on-location recordings.
Next week, The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra will be heard in selections from "Miles Ahead" - a concert of music composed and arranged by Gil Evans and originally recorded by Miles Davis.
