New Releases And Holiday Music Featured On This Week's Jazz Northwest

On this week's Jazz Northwest,  Jose "Juicy" Gonzales Trio plays music from a new CD "Linus and Juicy" and also in live concerts.  Also featured is the extended three-movement "Concerto for Jazz Trumpet" composed by Samantha Boshnack featuring Thomas Marriott with the B'shnorkestra.  

Also included on this week's show are holiday favorites by Don Lanphere, Greta Matassa, Michael Powers, Anton Schwartz and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra playing a selection from the Sacred Music of Duke Ellington.

Jazz Northwest  is produced by host Jim Wilke exclusively for 88.5 knkx and knkx.org. The program is heard each Sunday at 2 p.m. Pacific and is available after broadcast for streaming at jazznw.org.   

Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
