Pianist, composer and bandleader Eddie Palmieri will be one of four National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Mastershonored this year on Monday January 14 at Lincoln Center.

The NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship is the highest honor that our nation bestows on jazz artists. Each year since 1982, the program has elevated to its ranks a select number of living legends who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of jazz.
Known as one of the finest Latin jazz pianists of the past 50 years, Eddie Palmieri is also known as a bandleader of both salsa and Latin jazz orchestras. His playing skillfully fuses the rhythm of Puerto Rico with the melody and complexity of his jazz influences: Thelonious Monk and NEA Jazz Masters Herbie Hancock and McCoy Tyner.
The ceremony and concert will be webcast Monday January 14 at 7:30pm EST at arts.gov/jazzmasterswebcastand jalc.org/neajazzmasters. Viewing parties are scheduled throughout the country, and Earshot Jazz is presenting a viewing party at Seattle'sRoyal Room Monday at 4:30pm PST.
