Linda Kim and Mike Chen joined hundreds of others at the Seattle Center to view the eclipse.

We weren't in the path of totality, but that didn't dampen the excitement in Seattle and around the Puget Sound region.

Nearly everywhere, people stepped outside their workplaces to look up at the sky and watch as the eclipse obscured 92 percent of the sun.

Hundreds of people gathered on the Seattle Center mural lawn near the Space Needle. Tourists and locals mingled, shared eclipse glasses and enjoyed what many dubbed a once in a lifetime experience.
