Kitchen floors and the amazing major appliance levitation

Okay, this one isn't about food -- other than the food scraps that were embedded and festering in both my kitchen floor and Nancy's.  It's about floors -- and the amazing Air Sled appliance mover.  One of the coolest gizmos I've seen in many a year.

After 20 years, the untreated wood floor in our kitchen was so grooved and dented it was becoming impossible to keep clean, so we took a deep breath and had a new linoleum floor installed.  The coolest part about the job was watching the way the installer moved our stove and refrigerator back into place without scratching the new floor.

It's called an Airsled and it actually converts an ordinary kitchen appliance into a hovercraft.  Here's some video of the Airsled in Action.  You might want to just cut to the chase here and fast forward to about 1:30 in.

Full Disclosure

In this Food for Thought episode I describe Marmoleum as being made from ground marmots in Marmolia.  This is untrue and said for entertainment purposes only.  There is no such place as Marmolia yet.

Marmoleum is  a brand of linoleum  made from linseed oil, rosin, wood flour, cork flour, limestone, jute and natural pigments .  No marmots.
