Jazz Northwest: Highlights of recent shows

This week featrued several performances, not previously broadcast, as a special spring fundraising edition of Jazz Northwest. The show showcased performances by the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, Bill Anschell's Standards Trio, Kendra Shank and John Stowell, The Axiom Quartet, and an all-star group led by George Cables at Centrum's Jazz Port Townsend.

The live-on-location recordings come from shows across the region, including the Edmonds Performance Center, Seattle Art Museum, Tula's Jazz Club and McCurdy Pavilion at Fort Worden outside Port Townsend.

KNKX is a listener-supported, community licensed radio station that depends on listener contributions and memberships for the majority of its operating funds. Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
