Normally, mid- to late November in the Pacific Northwest is a time to bundle up and get cozy indoors, as the wettest and stormiest weather settles in and provides a stark contrast to the blue skies of late summer and early fall. But this weekend, similar to last, people in the region can expect a really nice weekend for all manner of outdoor pursuits.
'Amazing' Days Ahead
“Amazing,” says KNKX weather expert Cliff Mass. “To have a good weekend in mid-November is a gift from heaven.”
He says even though Friday started out with drizzle and patchy fog, he expects that to clear out by midday. “And a ridge of high pressure will build over us. I expect to have temperatures getting up into the lower 50s, no chance of precipitation. So it’s going to be a really pretty, nice weekend, the whole weekend.”
He says the good weather will continue into Monday, with temps remaining in the range of 52-54 degrees and still lots of sun.
Wet Thanksgiving
He says on Tuesday, a transition begins.
“It’s not going to rain on Tuesday, but clouds will start moving in,” Mass says. “And then unfortunately, for the Thanksgiving period, clouds and precipitation will push into the region. I expect a wet situation from Wednesday into Sunday."
