Eric Alexander With Peter Bernstein Trio At Ballard Jazz Festival On Jazz Northwest

Saxophonist Eric Alexander and guitarist Peter Bernstein were in Seattle for the 2015 Ballard Jazz Festival and were featured in a main stage concert at the Nordic Heritage Museum. The concert was recorded and aired on Jazz Northwest on Sunday June 7 at 2 PM Pacific on 88.5 KPLU and streaming at kplu.org.

Eric Alexander and Peter Bernstein are joined in this concert by the Seattle rhythm team of Chuck Deardorf on bass and Matt Jorgensen on drums. They play jazz standards by Wes Montgomery, Horace Silver and George Coleman and a surprise YouTube hit by Eric Alexander.

Both Eric Alexander and Peter Bernstein are busy New York-based musicians who tour extensively and have dozens of CDs available. This quartet was making a return appearance at the festival, they previously appeared together in the 2005 Festival and a YouTube video of that appearance has received over 100,000 views.

The Ballard Jazz Festival is presented by Origin Records / OA2 Records, Matt Jorgensen and John Bishop are the Artist and Managing Directors.  The mainstage concert was presented by HomeStreet Bank.

Jazz Northwest is recorded and produced by Jim Wilke exclusively for 88.5 KPLU and kplu.org and airs at 2 PM Pacific on Sundays.  A podcast of the program is available after the broadcast.
