A call for local heroes

http://vimeo.com/17889360

Know someone who did something heroic over the last few years? If so, you may want to consider nominating that person for the Citizen Service Before Self Honors Award.

The Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation recognizes ordinary Americans who have clearly demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice for others whether through a single act of extraordinary heroism at risk to one's life or through a series of selfless acts.

Finalists from last year include two Seattle women, Michelle Kleisath and Chilan Ta, who rescued a disabled woman who fell onto the Metro train tracks in Washington, D.C.

The awards are presented to unsung heroes by recipients of our country's highest award for valor - the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Nominations must be received by Friday, February 18. Citizens may submit an eligible nominee by completing an online form at www.CitizenServiceBeforeSelfHonors.org.
