Anton Schwartz Quintet Featuring Russell Ferrante & Thomas Marriott At Tula's

Tenor saxophonist Anton Schwartz leads a stellar quintet in performance at Tula's in Seattle on Jazz Northwest.   The quintet, featuring special guest pianist Russell Ferrante and Thomas Marriott on trumpet plays music from Anton Schwartz' CD Flash Mob.  Jon Hamar on bass and D'vonne Lewis at the drums complete the ensemble.

Anton Schwartz grew up in New York City where he began his career but has made his home on the West Coast in recent years including LA, the Bay Area and Seattle.  He tours widely and has recorded five CDs as a leader.  Russell Ferrante is best known as the keyboard player and founding member of the group Yellowjackets, but he's also a popular session pianist, arranger and teacher.

Jazz Northwest is recorded and produced by Jim Wilke exclusively for 88.5 KPLU.  The program airs and streams live at kplu.org Sundays at 2 PM Pacific.  Podcasts of the program are available at jazznw.org.
