The regional jazz scene is cranking up for Fall, with the new Calluna jazz club, the Bellevue Jazz and Blues Series next week, and The Earshot Jazz Festival starting the week after that. The Royal Room has resumed music, and Jazz Alley has had some great jazz groups in recent weeks. Trumpeter Thomas Marriott is prominent among regional artists in the resurgence of jazz this Fall. He's appearing in several locations this month. Music from his latest album "Trumpet Ship" is included in this week's episode.

Also on this week's show are selections by Cory Weeds, Greta Matassa, Jared Hall, Jacqueline Tabor and others.

Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
