It's usually right about this time every year that Pacific Northwest residents have seen enough of the rain and start daydreaming about trips to the tropics. But Amanda Frazier, who was born and raised in Hawaii and still lives there, wrote a song expressing her envy of the wet climate here.
It isn't every day that you find someone who gets to enjoy the weather of Hawaii and wishes to be in rainy Seattle. But as she explains, the song, simply titled "Seattle Rain", was written as an outlet of sorts. In fact, it wasn't so much that she wanted to be in the rain of Seattle, but more that she was jealous of it.
Her boyfriend had made the decision to move across the Pacific Ocean to Seattle, and "Seattle Rain", ?as Frazier describes it, is a song a lot of people who are far away from someone they love can relate to.
"Seattle Rain" can be found on the album "Just Dream", which won the 2014 Na Hoku Hanohano Award (Hawaii's version of the Grammys) for best alternative album of the year.
