Event Description

Connecting Filmmakers, Film Lovers and Communities--The Port Townsend Film Festival began life in 1999 as the vision of four film buffs who saw an opportunity to create a three-day event with something for everyone.

Port Townsend is known as the “Mecca of bowmaking,” where five world-renowned bowmakers live and work. They are among the handful of craftsmen who still practice this centuries-old trade. Join director Ward Serrill, producer Rocky Friedman, and sound and assistant editor Sana Gomes who will talk about their travels around the world to pursue this story.

Following the screening, Joseph Bednarik (Copper Canyon Press) talks with Stephen on stage about his journey as an actor and how “The Tobolowsky Files” became a podcast about life, love and the entertainment industry.

Enjoy a truly magical collaboration of live music (accordions and more!) and silent film. We open with Lotte That Silhouette Girl a 10-minute short. Followed by six silent fairy tales made by paper artist and inventor of silhouette animation, Lotte Reiniger. All accompanied by the music of Miles & Karina. Every frame is a work of art, and each musical note matches the action. All scores were commissioned by the Northwest Film Forum and composed by Miles and Karina in 2013.
