KNKX Connects to another Western Washington community this month!
We had a great time at our first KNKX Connects event in Port Angeles in June with a live broadcast of KNKX’s All Things Considered, and host Ed Ronco and producer Geoffrey Redick bringing stories about people and issues from the Olympic Peninsula to the fore. For our next event, KNKX Connects to Centralia and Chehalis--including a special live broadcast of All Things Considered on August 30 at Jeremy’s Farm to Table in Chehalis. Much like we did in Port Angeles, we’ll highlight local issues and life. In addition to exploring the news of the day, you’ll hear an interview with Centralia native and professional opera singer Angela Meade; we ride the rails in Chehalis to learn about how trains shaped these communities and continue to have a major impact; and we revisit the legacy of George Washington, the son of a slave who founded Centralia in 1875.
Come on down, pull up a chair for the live broadcast from 3-6 p.m., then schmooze with Ed, Geoffrey and other KNKX folks from 6-7:30 p.m. We’ll have live music from world-class flugelhornist and Centralia resident, Dmitri Matheny and guitarist Milo Peterson. Your first beer or wine is on us!
