Scouting for Butterflies

Everyone loves butterflies, but how much do you really know about them? Are they all migratory? Aren't they in decline? How are they different than moths? Join David Droppers as we trek through the trails of Mountain Home Road in search of summer butterflies. Learn what makes each species unique, and how Lepidopterists study them. We will be using catch-and-release methods to observe them up close. Bring your camera!

We will be walking on uneven ground and on single track trails for most of the day. We will be walking a maximum of 3.2 miles with 800 feet of elevation gain. Please make sure you are capable of hiking this before signing up for this class.
