As our mantra goes: Stories are everything. A good story can change a life. A great story can change the whole world. It's why we listen.
We'll be taking in a number of stories at the Life is Beautiful festival's Learning Series next week. A robust roster of speakers will share their work, experiences, and groundbreaking ideas.
Among them are conceptual artists and political advocates Pussy Riot. NPR's own Neda Ulaby will interview them during Friday's Session: "The Good, The Bad, & The Grey."
At the festival, we'll be collecting your stories about the power of listening. We ask: #whylisten? How has listening changed you? And furthermore, what stories should we all be listening to, what voices are going unheard?
We hope you'll be moved by a perspective you hear for the first time. We hope you think actively about other perspectives you haven't yet considered. We hope you'll be inspired to truly listen.
And if you can't make it out, we hope you still share your story with us. Join in with hashtag: #whylisten.
