SALEM, Ore. - A pair of murder suspects who were the subject of a two-state manhunt were arrested this afternoon in California. David Joseph Pedersen and Holly Ann Grigsby were captured Wednesday afternoon during a traffic stop north of Sacramento, California.
The two are wanted for the murder of a 69-year-old Everett, Washington woman. The pair is also thought to be connected with the disappearance of a 19-year-old Oregon teen named Cody Myers.
Oregon State Police said Wednesday that they are working to identify a body that they think might be the missing teen. Oregon State Police Lieutenant Gregg Hastings says the body was that of a young adult male. But he says police aren't ready to say that it's Myers.
"But as a courtesy, we notified Cody's family late last night of the body that was found, because we have stressed to them the importance that we want to make sure that they hear from us first," Hastings says.
Myers disappeared over the weekend while on a trip to a jazz festival on the Oregon coast. Police say Pederson and Grigsby were driving Myers' car at the time of their arrest.
Police in Everett say the pair is also wanted for questioning in connection with another missing man. He's the father of suspect David Pederson.
