Snow blanketed the region, creating scenes such as this Tuesday night on Seattle's First Hill, near downtown.

Predicted snow fell across western Washington on Tuesday evening, largely sparing the evening commute. This morning people are waking up to rain, thick slush and closed or delayed schools.

A driver in Tukwila slid down a hill and onto the tracksof Sound Transit's Central Link light rail. The car landed on its roof. The driver received minor injuries, according to KING-TV.  Those tracks were closed for a time, with service resuming before midnight.

The steady rain that's fallen following the snow prompted the National Weather Service in Seattle to issue an urban flood advisory for King, Pierce and southwest Snohomish counties. The advisory cautions drivers who should expect to find standing water on roadways, blocked from runoff by the thick slush.
