The nu Trio Concert At Seattle Art Museum

Art of Jazz’s September concert at Seattle Art Museum featured the nu Trio. The trio consists of three veteran musicians, Nathan Breedlove on trumpet, Phil Sparks on bass and Brian Kirk ondrums.  The combination of trumpet, bass and drums with no chordal instrument such as guitar or piano, allows the trio to play with an open, airy feel that encourages free improvisation.

This broadcast set includes three standards as well as jazz originals by Nathan Breedlove, John Hicks, Miles Davis, and Booker Little.  The Art of Jazz series is co-presented by Earshot Jazz and the Seattle Art Museum with support from KNKX on the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the Brotman Forum. There is no charge for admission to these concerts.  Next in the series will be Russian-born saxophonist and singer Elena Maque on October 11.
