“’Nuff said,” is right.  When jazz fans hear the names Monty Alexander, John Clayton and Jeff Hamilton in conjunction, they know they’ll be treated great music, played with inspiration, joy and absolutely amazing technical chops.

Monty (piano), John (bass) and Jeff (drums) have performed together off and on for almost 40 years.

In their most recent reunion tour they played at Jazz Alley, and made time to come into our studios to treat us to a mini-concert.

Hosted by Abe Beeson, the session features three terrific performances and topics of conversation that include jazz education, John and Jeff’s experience performing with Paul McCartney and Monty’s reminiscence of working with Frank Sinatra.

Justin joined KNKX in 2009 as the station's first Multimedia Manager. In this role, Justin helped to produce multimedia content, and implement systems and procedures in efforts to transform KNKX from a traditional broadcast station into a multi-platform media organization.
Abe grew up in Western Washington, a 3rd generation Seattle/Tacoma kid. It was as a student at Pacific Lutheran University that Abe landed his first job at KNKX, editing and producing audio for news stories. It was a Christmas Day shift no one else wanted that gave Abe his first on-air experience which led to overnights, then Saturday afternoons, and started hosting Evening Jazz in 1998.
