Jazz Northwest for November 11

This week on Jazz Northwest we'll hear some great resident musicians from Portland to Vancouver, and recordings from the 70s to the present.

We'll hear a big band from Portland led by Rob Scheps play some highly original music by Ezra Weiss, an inventive new CD by Jon Hamar, two hard swinging saxophonists, Cory Weeds from Vancouver and Bert Wilson from Olympia, plus former Seattle/Vancouver/now New York singer Dee Daniels, the venerable Overton Berry Trio (at The Double Tree in 1970!) and others as we present some of the best of the Northwest and updates on the best spots for live jazz.  Jazz Northwest is now at a new time, 2 pm on Sundays, on 88.5, KPLU.

Jim has been a fixture on Seattle radio since 1961. He was the host of Jazz After Hours on Public Radio International from 1984-2014. Currently Jim has been producing Jazz Northwest for KNKX since 1988. This weekly program focuses on the regional jazz scene and frequently includes performances Jim records on location for Jazz Northwest.
