Well-wishers cheer the victorious French team parading aboard a bus on the famed Champs Elysees avenue in Paris. France won the FIFA World Cup on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Croatia.

KNKX travel expert Matthew Brumley leads group travel all over the world. It’s not often he finds himself in a country on the day its team wins the World Cup.

This weekend he was in French city of Arles at the moment of victory. In this "Going Places" extra, Brumley steps away from the honking horns and other celebrations to send us a few thoughts.

Matthew Brumley hosts "Going Places," 88.5's weekly exploration of travel. It airs every Thursday and again on Saturday. We're sharing this short bit of audio as an extra report.
